This series of photos were taken for a “self assignment.” I don’t have a lot to say about these photos except I hope to continue my “self assignments” during 2010. It is a way that I can learn a new type of photography, challenge myself and perhaps remember why I love to photograph almost anything.

Thankful

November 24, 2009

It is thanksgiving this week, and I have been thinking a lot about my life and all that I have. Last week I was able to hear a wonderful photographer speak about giving back through photography. A few weeks before that I was the accompanist on the piano for a musical number by Josh Groban called “Thankful.” Both of these events have given me a lot to think about, so I would like to give back this holiday season with my photography skills. If you know of an organization that is non-profit, a family, or an individual that is in need of photography services, you may nominate them for my “Thankful” package. (The details of the package will be determined by the situation of the recipient, but there will be no charge for the full resolution digital files and a small sampling of prints will be given as part of the package. Full wedding packages not available for nomination.) To nominate, please leave a comment on my blog without the names of those involved, or send a message to me through Facebook. All nominations must be in by December 31st. I hope that each of us can think of something to be thankful for and pass on our thanks to those around us. Lots of love to you all! Andrea

Snow, Sunshine, and Football

February 9, 2009

Here are some photos of a really cute family that were taken awhile ago. Here’s the deal, I took their pictures in the FALL for their Christmas Cards, and didn’t post any of their fabulous pictures. Then, right AFTER Christmas I took some more pictures of them and their extended family in the snow. Hmmmm. I am really behind. So if you are confused why there is sunshine, green grass, and snow all mixed into one post it is because I am a slacker! On a personal note, my daughter had a crush on one of these cute boys, “Mr. B” for a long time. He is the oldest boy out of the bunch and after meeting him, I approve, although my daughter is too young for this kind of thing………! I had a great time with this family, and wow, they are a fun, good looking bunch. The dad even cooperated, (maybe his wife threatened him) but as soon as I packed up my camera, he was off to see the rest of the BYU football game. Now that is dedication.

I am still alive!!! (Barely)

January 10, 2009

Well hello! It has been a very busy holiday season for me and I have missed posting photos from my photo sessions on my blog. It was just one thing that I cut out because there were many other things I put first. Thank you for a wonderful 2008. I have enjoyed photographing so many of you at weddings, family sessions, family reunions, engagement sessions, senior sessions, and baby sessions! If you decide to re-book me, I will give a 10% repeat customer discount on your sitting fee and of course referrals are always welcome! You are the reason I have a successful business. Thank you! I hope 2009 is great for all of you!

So check out these FABULOUS card designs… (Oh yeah and how about the ROCKIN‘ photos in the cards?) All of the cards shown here were designed by Shout It Out! card designs and photography done by Andrea Hanks Photography. If you like both of these elements, then you are going to LOVE my killer deal for Christmas! (For more examples of card designs by Shout It Out! please visit: http://www.shoutitoutdesigns.blogspot.com/.

Alright, so here’s the deal. There are still a bunch of people wanting to get Christmas photos for their Christmas cards so….I am going to bust out an awesome deal for you! Book your photo session between today, November 12th and December 12th and for $75 you will get the following:

  • A 1 hour family portrait session at the location of your choice (Davis County to Salt Lake County)
  • A custom Christmas Card design with up to 2 photos by Shout It Out! card design
  • 25-4X6 Christmas Cards using the Shout It Out! card design of your choice. You may choose one of Marianne’s pre-made templates, or she can design one to your specifications.
  • 3 months of online posting of all of your images on Pictage where friends and family can order unlimited prints and products.
  • 1-8×10 print from your photo session*

This cool deal gives you a total of over $165.00 in savings off of my regular package price and card design! Wahoo!

(Skip this next part if you already know how awesome of a deal this is!)

BTW, if you went to let’s say, Walmart, Kiddie Candid, or Target, you would not get to choose from ALL of the poses taken, or would you get on location CUSTOM photography, and you would not get the digital images released to make your cool custom card. You would have to buy Christmas Cards from the photo studio, which is NOT cheap, plus they are NOT as cool as Shout It Out! card design cards. Oh and for further education on what custom photography is all about, please read this article! http://www.professionalchildphotographer.com/information/

*All other prints desired can be purchased online at Pictage. The c.d. with all images from the session may be purchased at an additional rate.
